Elín moved to London in January 2010 to be with Bragi, whom she had met during the summer holiday in Reykjavík. While in London she studied for a degree in interior design, and graduated earlier this year, before travelling around Asia with Bragi, during which time they got married.
Elín’s book is a biography of her grandmother Elín ‘Ella’ Þórarinsdóttir. She calls her grandmother her ‘superstar’ in life. “She’s quite a character and a best friend too! She gave the book to me when I was younger and whenever I miss her I find comfort in reading a chapter or two!”
Elín loves her lopapeysa which was knitted for her by her Thai mother.
